Dr. Gerry White Gerry L. White, PhD., LMSW Obtained his BA degree in Psychology from California State University at Hayward, a master’s degree in Social Work-with an emphasis in Children and Families, and his Ph.D. in Social Work from Clark Atlanta University, Whitney M. Young. Jr. School of Social Work. He is currently an Associate Professor with CAUSSW where he teaches graduate courses in family therapy, African American families, evaluation of clinical practice, and other practice related courses. He has also taught social work courses at the University of Georgia and Morris Brown College. He has 30 years in direct practice designing, implementing, and evaluating program services; twenty-three with Families First, a Georgia’s family service agencies, He is the owner of P.E.S., LLC, Evaluating Life. For 13 years he has provided family and psycho-educational services. He is a certified Facilitator and FVIP owner and conducts women and men groups. Dr. White has also published several articles related father involvement and co-parenting. He is married 31 years to Dr. Celeste M. White, and they are the parents of 3 college educated daughters.
Dr. White is an enthusiastic speaker and lecturer. He has given presentations throughout the country including the National Association of Welfare Research and Statistics, National Association of Social Workers, the Child Welfare League, and “Let Us Make Man” an annual Statewide Conference. During the pandemic, Dr. White conducted a series of YouTube discussions entitled: Chat with the Frat, which focused on the spread of the pandemic, social justice and trauma He also holds a Certificate in Non-Profit Management from the Alliance for Children and Families in collaboration with the University of Michigan School of Social Work, Executive Management Institute Program. He is a member of the National Association of Social Workers, The Black Man Lab, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and Prince Hall Masons
