Elisabeth "Elise" Colquitt serves as a Therapist and Family Advocate at The Cottage Sexual Assault Center and Children's Advocacy Center in Athens, Georgia, where she provides trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and comprehensive advocacy services to children and families impacted by abuse and family violence. She brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and criminal justice knowledge to her role, holding a Master of Social Work from the University of Georgia and a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Mercer University.


Prior to her current position, Elise gained valuable experience in child welfare through her work with DFCS and the Children's Advocacy Centers of Georgia's CSEC Response Team. Her research background includes examining barriers to SANE certification and studying factors influencing responses to sexual assault allegations. She has presented at numerous professional conferences and served as a guest lecturer at multiple universities on topics related to child welfare and advocacy.


Elise is particularly passionate about building strong collaborative relationships between Children's


Advocacy Centers and law enforcement agencies to better serve families impacted by violence. Her commitment to improving systems response to family violence is demonstrated through her active involvement in multidisciplinary teams and her dedication to trauma-informed practice.
