Donna Bracewell is the Community Response & Outreach Services Director at Project Safe, the domestic violence agency serving Athens-Clarke County and surrounding areas. With over 30 years of experience, she leads a team focused on crisis response, interagency collaboration, and systems-level advocacy to improve outcomes for survivors at the highest risk of harm.


Donna developed the region’s High-Risk Team (HRT), partnering closely with law enforcement to embed advocates during post-incident follow-ups. This on-scene response model has strengthened survivor safety and increased offender accountability. She also serves as the Fatality Review Coordinator and sits on the Executive Committee of the Athens-Clarke and Oconee County Domestic Violence Task Force.


A recognized leader in domestic violence systems change, Donna has a long history of guiding organizational transitions, securing funding, and building collaborative safety initiatives that reflect the needs of both rural and urban communities. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed advocacy, field-based insight, and a commitment to action in the face of danger.
