Samantha Altfest is the Development and Public Engagement Coordinator at Ahimsa House, the first and only organization solely dedicated to helping human and animal victims of domestic violence in Georgia reach safety together. While earning her bachelor’s degree from Emory University, Samantha completed a Nonprofit Management Internship at Ahimsa House, and later volunteered on their 24-hour Crisis Line. She joined the Ahimsa House staff as the Community Services Advocate in January 2016, coordinating the organization’s community and professional outreach efforts throughout the state. In her current role, she manages all awareness and engagement activities, maintains the organization’s case management software, and writes and manages foundation grants. Samantha lives in Clarkston, GA with her partner, three dogs, two cats, and a rotating cast of foster animals from both Ahimsa House and other local rescues.
