As Executive Operations Director, Shanta provides strategic leadership over key divisions, including External Affairs, Recruitment & Retention, Special Projects, and Training & Professional Development. She ensures the department’s initiatives are executed effectively and align with agency priorities.

Shanta plays a vital role in enhancing the department’s public image, advancing recruitment efforts, and fostering professional development to build a skilled and dedicated workforce.

She has served the State of Georgia since 2006, including with the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) since its inception in 2015. Prior to DCS, she held various roles with the Georgia Department of Corrections. Throughout her career, Shanta has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the criminal justice system—particularly in the areas of community supervision and staff development—taking on key leadership roles to enhance operations and service delivery.

Beyond her work at DCS, Shanta serves as a Commission Member for the Georgia Commission for Family Violence, supporting efforts to address family violence and promote policies that enhance safety and well-being for Georgia families.

Shanta holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Strayer University. She has completed professional development programs including the University of Georgia’s Corrections Leadership Institute, the APPA Leadership Institute, and the ACJI Implementation Leadership Academy. Her commitment to professional growth and the advancement of community corrections is reflected in her active memberships in the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA), the Georgia Professional Association of Community Supervision (GPACS), and the Georgia Council on Criminal Justice.
