Lori Massengale
External Affairs Director
Georgia Department of Community Supervision

As External Affairs Director, Lori leads engagement with elected officials, external stakeholders, and the media. She has served the State of Georgia since 2006, including with the Department of Community Supervision (DCS) since its inception in 2015. Before joining DCS, she held various roles with the State Board of Pardons and Paroles.


Lori brings extensive experience in program


development and training. Her efforts to align department goals with public safety priorities have earned her recognition, including the Innovations Award and Sworn Employee of the Year.


She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Georgia Professional Association of Community Supervision (GPACS), the American Probation and Parole Association (APPA), and the Association of Women Executives in Corrections (AWEC). She has also served on advisory boards for Axon Corrections and Crisis Intervention Training.


Lori holds a Master’s in Public Safety Administration from Columbus State University and is a graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College. She has completed several advanced leadership programs, including the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, APPA Leadership Institute, and ACJI Implementation Leadership Academy.


A Georgia P.O.S.T. Certified Master Instructor, Lori holds advanced certifications in firearms, use of force, defensive tactics, emergency vehicle operations, medical response, wellness, and crisis intervention. She is also a Master Taser Instructor for Axon and a nationally certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor.
