Support for Survivors of Murder-Suicide Project Coordinator

Danielle Edwards is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Compassionate Bereavement Care® provider who specializes in grief, trauma and domestic violence recovery. As Georgia’s Support for Survivors Murder-Suicide Project Coordinator, she provides direct survivor support, oversees the Georgia Murder-Suicide Response Network, organizes murder-suicide support groups, and provides technical support and training to community partners.


Prior to joining GCFV, Danielle co-facilitated GCFV’s first specialized support group for murder-suicide survivors and partnered with Kate’s Club and DJJ to facilitate its “Disrupt the Grief to Prison” pilot support group for justice-involved youth. As a lifelong griever, turned grief advocate, Danielle is committed to providing grief-informed care. To this end, Danielle provides therapy for those who have experienced traumatic grief, and has facilitated countless support groups for bereaved children and their caregivers. Danielle has a Masters of Social Work from The University of Georgia, and she provides consultation, clinical supervision and continuing education workshops.
