Leo Martinez is the founder and principal consultant of Leo Martinez Consulting, a Jacksonville-based firm providing training, technical assistance, and project management to community organizations and government agencies. With over 13 years of experience, Leo is a recognized leader in victim services, cultural responsiveness, and LGBTQ+ advocacy.
Formerly the Senior Manager of Training and Technical Assistance at Esperanza United, Leo led national projects funded by OVC, OVW, and HHS, including the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence in the Latinx Community. His work has also included contributions to the Vicarious Trauma Response Initiative, the Intimate Partner Homicide project focused on Latina victims, and multiple efforts to improve language access for immigrant and limited English proficient survivors.
Leo’s consulting expertise is sought nationwide by organizations such as the Georgia Commission on Family Violence, the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, and the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault. He has served as faculty for the Georgia Victim Assistance Academy, offering training on LGBTQ+ and male victimization and cross-sector collaboration.
A dedicated advocate for LGBTQ+ Latinx communities, Leo co-founded Latino LinQ in Atlanta, serving as its first president. In recognition of his advocacy, he was named Grand Marshal of Atlanta Pride in 2016.
Leo holds a B.S. in Psychology and Human Services from Clayton State University. He remains an active voice in national conferences and peer learning spaces focused on equity, inclusion, and serving underserved communities.
